Jacques Eduard Rensburg he was a virtuoso solo cellist, chamber musician and composer. Rensburg was friends with many of his contemporaries such as Johannes Brahms, Edvard Grieg, Friedrich Gernsheim, Leonhard Wolff, Ferdinand Hiller, Max Bruch, Clara Schumann or Joseph Joachim and played together with the most famous musicians of his time.
